Central Region Water Board is implementing Ntcheu Town Water Supply Improvement Projects. The Board borrowed K445 million from a commercial bank to finance the projects. At the completion of these projects, the Board will achieve the following:
(i) Increased production capacity at Chiole Booster Station from an average of 16,000 to 45,000 cubic meters per month after upgrading surface pumps and increasing temporary storage.
(ii) Upgraded transmission pipeline from Chiole booster to Ndagoma from 150mm to 200mm diameter for a total of 4.7 km.
(iii) Provision of alternative power during blackouts after installing a standby diesel generator.
The Projects, running concurrently, are expected to be completed by February. 2023.
